Transliteration


The phoneme listing in the Phonology section shows the commonly accepted transliteration into the Latin alphabet. The use of the circumflex for denoting long vowels is admittedly based on aesthetical reasons.


English speakers should keep in mind that /j/ is always pronounced like y in you, not dsh.
