"What exactly are we doing here?"

Standing in the vast Great Hall with a horde of kids gawking at them Dylan felt equally out of place. He was spared an answer when a white-haired, old man rose from its seat at the head table and cleared his throat.

"Welcome at Hogwarts," he greeted them with a warm smile. Then he turned to the students. "You may have heard of the delegation that is currently guest of the Ministry of Magic. While most official activities are conducted there our two visitors will spend some time here to acquaint themselves with the magical world at a more basic level." The blue eyes behind the half-moon glasses twinkled. "Although they are no wizards themselves _" Low mutterings at the tables. "_they will share your dorm and will take part in your classes. I hope you will make them feel at home."

The subdued clapping lasted for only a few moments. Clearly the students didn't quite know what to think. Neither did Dylan. He dubiously eyed the threadbare pointed hat that the headmaster took from the folds of his robe.

"You have to be Sorted," he told them kindly. "So that we know to which house you will temporary belong to." Dylan wanted to ask what Sorting meant when the hat opened a mouth and started to sing. Dylan jumped and even his imperturbable exec twitched. Of all the strange things they had seen since coming to this place that was the weirdest. So far, Dylan reminded himself.

Then came the moment where they should put on the hat. Dylan exchanged a quick glance with Rhade. Who first? The Nietzschean's lips twitched. "I will come to the rescue, " he uttered sub-vocally. Dylan sighed and stepped forward.

The hat smelled dusty. At this point the voice in his head didn't surprise him anymore. "Let's see what we have here. Ohh, a man of ideals. Courage, there is no doubt. It's easy: GRYFFINDOR!"

Scattered applause from one of the tables to the left. Dylan handed the hat to Rhade and, after a wink of the headmaster, went over to sit with the kids. The little redhead next to him smiled a bit shyly and introduced herself as Ginny. Before he could answer the hat screamed behind him: "SLYTHERIN!"

Dylan turned to see his exec jerk off the thing and drop it in annoyance. With a short, visible irritated glance to Dylan he stalked to the opposite table decked in green and silver colours. Murmurs swept through the hall and students and teachers alike stuck heads together and whispered. The headmaster looked disappointed. Something had gone wrong, it seemed. Although Dylan had no clue what. There had not been any clapping and Rhade was met by hostile glares at his table. Dylan couldn't see but well imagine the answering scowl evident by the sudden haste some students displayed to make place for the newcomer.
