I got this idea while reading some of Ra's background as told in the novelization.
Ra's closed his eyes as the train car started to fall.
Not all of my methods are parlour tricks, Bruce. Some are truly supernatural.
Breathing deeply he willed his concentration to razor sharpness. He growled out the ancient incantation that called his servant to his side. The summoning worked. The ifrit, itself a creature of air and fire, cried in glee as the microwave emitter exploded into a fire storm on impact. But Ra's, eyes shut against the glare, was safe in the spirit's embrace and it bore him away to the safety of his ancient desert home.
