He knelt before his Master flush with success. But silence greeted his report. Hesitantly he raised his gaze.
“Master, have I angered you?”
Heavier silence, then a harsh sigh.
“You have learned everything what can be learned at the leash.”
The collar opened with a click and fell to the ground. The sound of metal hitting stone was far too loud. Uncertainly Qui-Gon touched his bare throat.
“Now I set you free.” Lord Dooku's tone was merciless. “Leave! Don't ever cross my path again.” A thin smile. “Except when you are ready to challenge me.”
